Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) reenacted the infamous “Dean scream” that earned him years of mockery after dropping his 2004 presidential bid Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention.
After praising Hillary Clinton for her strides in championing healthcare, Dean began wrapping up speech by listing off states he said Clinton would win. He listed the same states, with similar intensity, as he did during that notorious moment at the 2004 Iowa caucuses.
“Because this race is going to be won on the ground and it’s going to be won in Colorado, and in Iowa, and North Carolina and Michigan and Florida and Pennsylvania, and then we go to the White House!” Dean yelled to cheers from the crowd.
Unfortunately, he omitted the “Yeah!” from the end of his original “scream.”
Watch below:
I love Howard – and he’s back, looking even better than he did in 2004. Keep hammering on health care!
He didn’t do the best part! Come on, what a ripoff.
Republicans just don’t have a sense of humor.
They are very good at conjuring up horrors. Remember how they use to lecture us that the world was a dangerous place?
I have to admit, how that speech ended his candidacy is beyond my ability to understand.
It was a wonderful end to a measured speech
