Republican Party donors and leaders outraged over Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) refusal to endorse Donald Trump Wednesday night were hostile enough that his wife, Heidi, had to be escorted off the floor, according to multiple reports.

CNN first reported that security was leading Heidi Cruz off the floor after her husband’s widely booed speech.

Video posted online shows former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli escorting Heidi Cruz out as attendees shouted insults at her:

Cuccinelli told the network he helped clear the way for Heidi because of “all the people physically approaching her, berating her.” He told another reporter the situation was “volatile” with Trump supporters “confrontationally yelling” at her.

There was also a report that the head of the Washington delegation went “bananas” on Cruz after the speech, calling him a traitor, with Heidi Cruz coming to his defense.

CNN’s Dana Bash reported that some at the donor suite level in the Cleveland arena were so angry that they called Cruz a “disgrace” to his face and another man had to be physically restrained.
