The Fox News anchor who was arrested this spring after an allegedly drunken episode in a Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport bar re-emerged at the news outlet Thursday with a column on campus rape.

A Fox News spokesperson confirmed to TVNewser that Gregg Jarrett was writing for the network’s website but said that his return to air was “to be determined.” He’s written five pieces for the website since Sept. 17.

Jarrett was taken into custody in May after police responded to a report of an intoxicated man at a bar in the Twin Cities airport. Surveillance footage obtained by Gawker after the arrest appeared to show Jarrett slurring his words and brawling with his arresting officers. The anchor pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in July.

He hasn’t appeared on air since taking time off in mid-May. A Fox spokesperson said at the time that Jarrett was “dealing with serious personal issues.” The anchor had just gotten out of rehab at the time of his arrest, according to an airport police report.

Jarrett’s column centered around the failure of many colleges and universities to prevent sexual assault on campus and properly investigate those assaults that do occur. The column was personal in nature, as Jarrett described recently dropping his daughter off for her freshman year of college and feeling relieved that her school conducts classes for incoming students on rape prevention and reporting.

“Rape and other sexual assaults are crimes,” he wrote. “They must be treated as such. Law enforcement should be allowed to do its job. Schools should stick to what they do best — teaching. And that includes educating students about campus sex crimes.”

Brain-dead GOPers will probably elect this clown to Congress.

  2. Drunkenly fighting with cops is one thing, but if he keeps writing sensible and respectful things about women he won’t have a future at FOX.

  3. I was wondering if he’d come back from rehab hardened and crazier than ever, or sensible.

    Sounds like sensible won out.

  4. Say what you want about his past actions but it’s hard to argue with his column as reported here.

He failed miserably in his assignment - his bosses told him that his article had to include the words: “Boobs” & “Benghazi” .
