George Zimmerman suggested Monday that he decided to put the gun he used to fatally shoot Trayvon Martin up for auction in order to prevent Democrat Hillary Clinton from being elected president.

“I was tired of Hillary Clinton’s anti-gun rhetoric,” Zimmerman told Las Vegas TV station KTNV. “She has been stumping around for a false campaign for the Trayvon Martin Foundation. She lied, saying that I killed him when he was walking home in his daddy’s neighborhood. Which if anyone watched more than seven minutes of the trial, they would know that is false.”

Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder in the shooting of Martin, an unarmed black teenager, in 2013. Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, endorsed Clinton earlier this year because she said Clinton would fight for gun reforms.

Zimmerman told KTNV he would do “anything I can think of” to ensure Clinton doesn’t become president.

He also told the news station that his 9-mm Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol fetched $250,000 in the auction. Some of that money would go toward opposing the Black Lives Matter movement and helping police officers who’ve been targets of violence, he said.
