French Troops Launch Ground Assault In Mali

 French troops on Wednesday launched a ground assault to combat Islamist militants in northern Mali, the Associated Press reported. Adm. Edouard Guillaud, the French military chief of staff, said the troops will be in “direct combat within hours.”
