It was only a matter of time before someone at Fox News managed to use the controversy surrounding the NFL and the way it handles domestic violence cases to bring up the beloved Benghazi scandal.

On Tuesday, “Fox and Friends” host Elisabeth Hasselbeck lamented that more people seem to care about the way the NFL handled Ray Rice’s domestic assault than care about the Benghazi attack.

Using current events to turn attention back to Benghazi is one of the network’s favorite pastimes. Conservatives often claim that the White House times its announcements and scandals to distract from the most important controversy at hand.
