Erickson Fires Back At ‘Emo Lefties’

In a blog post on RedState.com, Editor-in-Chief Erick Erickson replied to criticism of his Fox Business appearance Wednesday evening, in which he railed against the uptick of “breadwinning” mothers he says is “tearing us apart.”

“Many feminist and emo lefties have their panties in a wad over my statements in the past 24 hours about families,” Erickson wrote on Thursday.

On Fox, Erickson expressed his dismay about a recent Pew study the found mothers to be the breadwinners in 40% of American households with children, explaining that a cursory glance at the animal world reveals that males are the dominant gender, and liberals who fail to see this are “very anti-science.”

The blog post reiterated this sentiment, with the addition of a dig at MSNBC:

In many, many animal species, the male and female of the species play complementary roles, with the male dominant in strength and protection and the female dominant in nurture. It’s the female who tames the male beast. One notable exception is the lion, where the male lion looks flashy but behaves mostly like a lazy beta-male MSNBC producer.

Erickson continued, mocking the “liberal” idea that there is “no gender identifying role”:

Men can behave like women, women can behave like men, they can raise their kids, if they have them, in any way they see fit, and everything will turn out fine in the liberal fantasy world.

Except in the real world it does not work out that way.
