The Democractic National Committee on Monday will begin conducting robo-calls in Pennsylvania aimed at the Republican plan to allocate the state’s electoral votes proportionally in presidential elections, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) recorded the message for the calls, which will be made in 10 key state senate districts.

“The Republican Party is scheming to rig the next election because they can’t win on the issues,” Rendell said in the message. “This plan will diminish Pennsylvania’s importance in future elections and its role as a swing state where candidates spend time and money focusing on issues that are important to Pennsylvanians.”
