‘Daily Show’ Explains How We Got Wall-To-Wall Donald Trump Coverage (VIDEO)

“The Daily Show” investigated on Monday night’s episode how we got wall-to-wall coverage of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in a new segment called “How The Fuck We Got Here.”

Host Trevor Noah played a montage of clips, mostly from CNN, showing networks’ preference to show even an empty Trump rally over other news lest they miss a moment of the frontrunner.

“Are you shitting me? You keep the camera on the curtains in case they missed Donald Trump’s entrance? Trust me, no one has missed a Donald Trump entrance. Ever. I can guarantee you. No one has ever been in a room with Donald Trump and said, ‘Oh Donald, I didn’t see you come in. I didn’t see that.’ He’s the opposite of a ninja,” Noah said.

  1. Boy do I miss John Stewart. This guy blows.

  2. We got this coverage because news networks became far more interested in profit than in news. It’s just entertainment now. That’s why Trump is even a thing. It was profitable to cover his idiotic statements. It was profitable to give him air time because it drew in viewers and readers. His campaign was created by the media.

Using 10 minutes of Trump coverage to explain…poor use of time.

  4. That pic of Trump as a one man band was an insult to Dick Van Dike!

  5. I always wondered how much of TDS was Stewart and how much was the writers, except what I noticed was with Jon in non-TDS bits like on O’Reilly, he came across almost exactly the same.So although I would say Noah blows, he’s definitely not at the level Jon was, but maybe with time.
