Superintendent and Colonel of the Massachusetts State Police Timothy P. Alben said at a Thursday press conference that there will be a “controlled explosion” in Cambridge, Mass. this afternoon at a house that’s been secured by authorities. Alben said the explosion is a precautionary measure.
“It’s done out of an abundance of caution,” Alben said. “It’s done for the safety of the law enforcement officials that are over there before they proceed with a search of that premises.”
