Colbert Refuses To Take ‘No’ For An Answer On Ryan Accepting GOP Nom (VIDEO)

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), who has repeatedly said he is not running for president, went on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Tuesday night to once again say he’d refuse the Republican Party’s nomination.

Ryan, making his first late night TV appearance ever, appeared via satellite on Colbert’s show and began his segment by explaining how his message as speaker differs from that of the current crop of presidential nominees. Colbert then asked Ryan if he would accept the GOP nomination and refused to take no for an answer.

“Let me say it in clear English: no,” Ryan said.

“Okay, how about clear German?” Colbert asked.

“Nein,” Ryan replied.

“Wow, you seem to know a lot of foreign languages,” Colbert shot back. “That kind of international experience will really come in handy if you decide to accept the Republican nomination.”

  1. As someone pointed out somewhere recently, I think a huffpost article, he really seems to have lost a bit of humor, but I blame it more on the hour and network making him have to move right than him not being able to come up with as good a stuff anymore. If he’d had Ryan on the Colbert Report at this time he’d have sliced him up so much more.

  2. Clearly, the Republican Convention will pick Colbert.

  3. Blue-Eyed Baby-Faced Paul Ryan is the conservative Princess Elsa. The Princess has to be persuaded to return once more and rule America.

  4. I’ll pick Colbert!!!

Wait, what are we talking about?

  5. I thought it was the next host of The Apprentice… lol
