New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) told a GOP debate audience Thursday night that Obama has been irresponsible in how he has handled gun control.

“This guy is a petulant child, that is what he is,” Christie said.

Christie said that in the years since the president took office, he has polarized the country so much that voters have done everything they can to stop the president from passing his policies.

“When you became president, you had a Democratic Congress and a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate. You had only 21 Republican governors in this country and now after 7 years of your policies, we have the biggest majority we have had since the 1920s in the House, a Republican majority in the Senate and 31 out of 50 Republican governors,” Christie said.

“The American people have rejected your agenda and now you are trying to go around it? That is not right and it is not constitutional and we are going to kick your rear end out of the White House come this fall.”
