Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel’s (R) has scheduled a “status update” of its examination of runoff ballots at courthouses across the state for 3 p.m. on Monday.
McDaniel campaign spokesman Noel Fritsch described the event as a “status update on examination at courthouses across state.”
McDaniel’s campaign and his supporters have been poring over ballots of the runoff as McDaniel looks to see if he can challenge the results of the runoff, which Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) won.
McDaniel and his supporters argue that rampant voter fraud as well as Cochran reaching out Democrats and African-American voters are what catapulted him to victory in the runoff. According to McDaniel, he got more Republican votes than Cochran in the runoff and therefore is the actual Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.
