Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel’s (R) has scheduled a “status update” of its examination of runoff ballots at courthouses across the state for 3 p.m. on Monday.

McDaniel campaign spokesman Noel Fritsch described the event as a “status update on examination at courthouses across state.”

McDaniel’s campaign and his supporters have been poring over ballots of the runoff as McDaniel looks to see if he can challenge the results of the runoff, which Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) won.

McDaniel and his supporters argue that rampant voter fraud as well as Cochran reaching out Democrats and African-American voters are what catapulted him to victory in the runoff. According to McDaniel, he got more Republican votes than Cochran in the runoff and therefore is the actual Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.

  1. This will fail, and when it does, this prick will cry like a sorry little asshole.

  2. Passing the collection plate on Monday an old, god fearing Southern Baptist trick.

  3. God, I hope not! I want it to keep going…and going…and going…

  4. I’m wondering if all this isn’t just to keep himself in the news to gin up support for a write-in candidacy. It would almost guarantee Childers a win while keeping McDaniel’s name in the news. It’s one of those things that could lead to high paying wing nut welfare.

  5. Something I’ve been wondering… if these vote-checkers find that a Democrat voted for McDaniel, are they adding that to the count of ‘voter fraud voters’? Or, are they only putting Cochran votes into that pile?
