Census Data: 1 In 2 People Poor Or Low-Income

Census data show that one out of every two people are either poor or scrape by on a low income, the AP reports. A national conversation recently has focused on the nation’s growing income inequality, and Occupy Wall Street’s mantra labels the rich the 1 percent and the rest of the population the 99 percent.
