Herman Cain’s campaign now says its secret service request has nothing to do with keeping prying television cameras away.
“It has nothing to do with the media, it has nothing to do with reporters, Cain’s spokesman J.D. Gordon told NBC’s First Read.
Gordon said the campaign has received a number of threats, but he didn’t comment on the nature of those threats.
