After a string of exits from the conservative news site Breitbart, the organization sent cease and desist letters to some of the former employees, Politico reported Tuesday.
Reporter Michelle Fields, editor-at-large Ben Shapiro and four other staffers resigned over the company’s handling of allegations that Republican Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski manhandled Fields.
While Politico cited multiple anonymous sources with knowledge of the letters, the report did not name which former employees received them.
Fields and Shapiro both slammed their former employer in statements issued after their resignations and appeared on Fox News‘ “The Kelly File” Monday night to talk about the controversy.
Two other staffers who resigned said the conservative site had become a pro-Trump “propaganda” outlet.
