Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson said Tuesday that he thinks Muslims could only embrace the laws and values of the United States if they were “schizophrenic.”

Carson was asked on Sirius XM’s “Breitbart News Daily” if he thought “Sharia-compliant Muslims” could be integrated into American society and respect the nation’s laws and values.

“Only if they’re schizophrenic. I don’t see how they could do it otherwise,” Carson said, arguing that Islamic and American values contradict each other.

Carson made headlines in September for saying he wouldn’t support a Muslim for president of the United States.
