Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson endorsed real estate mogul Donald Trump’s race for the White House Friday morning.

“Donald Trump talks a lot about making America great, but it’s not just talk. He means it. I’m going to be helping him,” Carson said during a press conference in Palm Beach, Florida.

Carson also said of Trump that a “person’s image can be greatly distorted, having been a victim of that.”

The retired neurosurgeon said there are “two Donald Trumps,” the one you see on the debate stage and one that’s more “cerebral.” Carson also said we’re going to start seeing “more and more” of the latter Trump.

While the two were vying for the top of the GOP field, Trump infamously compared Carson to a “child molester” and said he had a “pathological temper.”

Asked if the two men apologized for the barbs they traded on the trail, Trump responded, “It’s politics. It’s tough stuff…We understand that.”
