Another Poll Brings Bad News For Pennsylvania Gov. Corbett

A wide majority of Pennsylvanians think it’s time for Gov. Tom Corbett (R) to go, according to the latest Franklin & Marshall College poll released on Wednesday.

Sixty-four percent of Keystone State residents want a new governor, compared with just a quarter who said Corbett deserves another term.

The poll also showed that a plurality of 46 percent of Pennsylvanians have an unfavorable impression of the first-term Republican. Moreover, only three percent said Corbett is doing an “excellent job” as governor while 22 percent said he is doing a “good job.”

As he approaches his re-election bid next year, Corbett looks increasingly vulernable. A Quinnipiac University poll released last month showed Corbett facing sizable deficits in hypothetical matchups against leading Democratic challengers.

The PollTracker Average provides a picture of the paltry approval ratings that have typified the last year in office for Corbett.
