Super PAC American Crossroads defended Mitt Romney on Tuesday to attacks that he can’t break an approval of 25%. Their argument is that Romney entered the primary field with voters well aware of his faults, and therefore, the fact that he has remained around 25% approval means that 25% is a floor, not a ceiling, for the candidate.

Minutes later (after a little Twitter activity over the remarks) a spokesman for American Crossroads qualified that defense, saying that they remain “neutral” in the primary but that they are opposed to “all goofy spin” coming from the other side of the aisle.
