An aide to former President George H. W. Bush wrote in an email to Bush’s family and friends Thursday that the former president, who is currently in the intensive care unit at Houston’s Methodist Hospital, “would ask me to tell you to please put the harps back in the closet,” according to CBS News.
“Is he sick? Yes. Does he plan on going anywhere soon? No. He has every intention of staying put,” Jean Becker, Bush’s chief of staff, wrote in the email. “He would ask me to tell you to please put the harps back in the closet.”
Becker wrote that 88-year old former president is getting “unequaled” medical care and urged prayers for Bush and his family.
