The FBI will release its file on the late Ted Stevens, the longtime Alaska senator who was the longest serving Republican in Senate history and whose career ended in scandal.
Michael Scanlon, a central figure in the Jack Abramoff scandal who turned state’s evidence years ago, is finally sentenced today. He could be ordered to pay millions in restitution but he’s arguing the scandal already damaged his earning potential. As Susan Crabtree reports, those who have followed the scandal closely suspect that even with restitution and prison time, Scanlon could walk out of jail still a very rich man.

Vice President Omar Suleiman just announced that Hosni Mubarak has stepped down in favor the “Higher Council of the Armed Forces,” which will run Egypt.
The President will make a statement about Mubarak’s stepping down, in an appearance in the White House briefing room at 1:30 ET.
