Welcome to the Awesome!

It turns out Internet literacy and keeping up on the latest apps can really keep you out of trouble.

We just got a PR press release from an outfit called ProtextedPix, a “private photo sharing website” which I guess is basically designed for high level public officials and movie stars who want to discreetly share penis pics. The email notes that “had Weiner used a site like ProtectedPix, it could have prevented the widespread viewing of his photos.”

You can say that again …

Just to be clear, we get press releases and PR pitches every day. And I don’t make a habit of posting them. But, okay … ProtectedPix, you win!

Joshua,

Along with any coverage you might be planning around the Anthony Weiner photos, I thought you might have interest in featuring this item. It is particularly timely as June is National Internet Safety Month.

ProtectedPix is a private photo sharing website that allows users to have control over their digital photos, offering a safe way to share pictures and protecting their privacy and reputation. This new service keeps images from being captured, reducing the risk that they will be shared with unexpected people or used for unintended purposes.

Had Weiner used a site like ProtectedPix, it could have prevented the widespread viewing of his photos. ProtectedPix was created in light of countless stories like this, specifically to protect users’ privacy, digital identity, and reputation.

Let me know if you have interest in more information. Thanks!

Best wishes,

[ed.note: I’ve redacted the sender’s email because she’s just someone working for some PR firm. And I have no desire to attach her name in the public mind to penis pics. But in case you’re wondering, yes, the email does clearly seem to come from a legit PR firm.]
