Those Brits

A quick update on the election in the UK. The latest polls show a relatively consistent picture: The Tories ahead, followed by the Liberal Democrats and then Labour in third place. But they’re all closely bunched together.

The key takeaways at the moment are that the current national numbers suggest that none of the three parties will come close to secure a majority on their own. Indeed it seems quite possible that Labour could come in third in the national percentage and win the most seats. Second, it seems clear that the Liberal Democrats surge over the weekend has not petered out.

The BBC reports that Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg next move is going to be a major attack on the UK’s big banks.
