Smart Republicans wrote off their chances of capturing Harry Reid’s seat as soon as the Nevada GOP made Sharron Angle the party’s nominee. It looks like they were right. In the short time since she won on June 8, she’s made a series of gaffes (if you call radical, ill-informed political ideas “gaffes”) that have given Reid new life in the polls and very possibly crippled any prospect she had of making her race one of the headliners for the GOP in 2010.
