[Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC)] argued it was irresponsible of Blumenthal to pass intelligence to Clinton without fully vetting its author’s sources.
“We have an intelligence apparatus,” Gowdy said. “My interest is: why send it to the secretary of state? Why not send it to the CIA?”
Is this really what the commotion is about? Blumenthal sent a memo from a former high-ranking CIA officer, now in the private sector, to his friend Hillary? And he should have sent it to the CIA?
I’ve been wondering what exactly these jokers were trying to find out from Blumenthal in addition to the presidential campaign angle. This is the best they can think up?
