PollTracker 1.1 Released in AppStore

Thursday we launched version 1.1 of our Polltracker Mobile app in the iTunes store. You can get it here, and existing 1.0 Polltracker users can upgrade via the App store. And of course it’s free.

We launched version 1.0 about 5 weeks ago now and we’re coming up on 30,000 app installs, and almost 150,000 poll notifications thus far.

We’ve consistently been in the top 50 downloads of all free news apps, and at peak download times moving into the top 10. We’ve had folks as varied as Mark Mckkinon, Jonathan Alter, David Frum, Mike Murphy, and even apparently Rush Limbaugh offer kind reviews of the application. Tech voices have also chimed in such as Mashable, Daring Fireball, Venture Beat, CNET, and yesterday Forbes, which called it one of 5 Essential Apps for the 2012 season.

The new 1.1 build adds in a simpler refresh button on all main screens – to allow you to instantly update any polling data on any page. It also has optimized caching of new poll data, as well as adding a number of performance and stability fixes. If you are an iPhone user and you haven’t tried it out yet, we hope you do. And existing users, please upgrade away today. And everybody, tell us what you think as we continue to evolve and build out this mobile effort.
