McCain is so proud of this country for the opportunities it created for Cindy’s dad to serve his nation and build up a beer distributing empire so that McCain could have someone to sponge off of. He’s so appreciative that the old USofA enables people to rise up from nothing to accomplish great things. Not that he’s one of those people himself, but he is a beneficiary of the American Dream.
It reminds me of Eugene Levy in “Waiting for Guffman” when he says, “People say, You must have been the class clown. And I say, No, I wasn’t. But I sat next to the class clown, and I studied him…”
