This is my first convention so I dont know if these are always like this …. But I doubt it. It’s as if someone in the Obama campaign has read your theory of bitch slap politics.
And while I doubt the flotus will do it (appear many reasons) much of the other speeches have been laced with sharp, biting sarcasm at romneys expense. You noted Strickland (he was great) along with patrick and the San Antonio mayor (both took advantage of the spotlight). But don’t overlook Ledbetter and the mother of the child with the heart defect (who the country would have loved)
The rnc and fox reaction to The Kennedy video is even better. Whining about the dems being unfairly tough is priceless and what the dems are going to love to laugh about coming out of tonight.
Again, first timer, so I plead some virginity on the subject. But a far cry from what I saw and read about the Kerry 04 or even obama 08. And in a fight over a sliver of the electorate, one likely to decide on issues of trust and character, I think this show of fire and fight is a big step to moving forward with this vote
One last point as I listen to flotus. Most of these same people are only going to hear her, and see clips of her speech. Hearing republican whining about mean dems and juxtaposing with her velvet trust is only going to underline an incongruity that will exacerbate distrust of their candidate.
At least, I hope so.
