A Saudi national arrested on arrival at Detroit Metropolitan Airport with pressure cooker.
We’re working to find more information about this arrest. Purely based on what we know so far, it’s a curious set of facts. I don’t think anyone is surprised that a pressure cooker in luggage would get everyone’s attention really quickly. That said, if you’re a terrorist, why would you import one into the country on a plane? That makes about as much sense as bringing a frying pan from Saudi as part of your conspiracy to fry scrambled eggs in the USA. They’re available everywhere.
That said, buying a pressure cooker ‘while Arab at the moment’ may be a less than fun experience. And genius has not been highly correlated with recent terror suspects.
I have to imagine there’s a lot more they’re going beside the pressure cooker. Presumably we’ll find out soon enough.
