Debate Live-Blogging Pt. #3

8:58 PM: Newt trying to be so incomprehensible that people forget what the question was. Also something about “the crooks”. See more here.

9:01 PM: Cain endorses partial phase-out of Social Security a la Bush plan. Mentions example of Chile.

9:03 PM: Romney unwilling to answer what happens if US goes into default. Defaulting on the national debt, money the country already borrowed. Shameful. And the default alone could increase the national debt by as much as $1 trillion.

9:08 PM: Key lines from Pawlenty about his yet to be announced plan on Medicare.

9:10 PM: Cain: Yes, I’d appoint a Muslim. But I wouldn’t be happy about it!

9:12 PM: Romney running for President; Newt running for Id.

9:19 PM: At least tactically speaking, that was well handled by Bachmann — on the gay marriage issue.

9:25 PM: Ben Smith tweets a good point. Even though most of these folks want to go back to DADT, the bigger story is that they don’t really want to talk about gay rights at all. And that’s very different from 8 years ago.
