NOAA is compiling satellite photos of Sandy’s destructive swath. Zoom in, pan, scan the places you know.
By way of example, one of the images, of Great Kills Harbor, on Staten Island, which shelters several marinas, shows docks and boats strewn everywhere. A Google Maps image shows the same area before Sandy.
