A short while after I moved to Washington DC twenty years ago, I saw James Fallows announce that he had just turned 50 and he was officially a “geezer”, as he put it. I think that was a blog post or an article or possibly it was in person. I’m not sure. But I have a pretty good memory. So I’m confident the core recollection is accurate. That always struck me as a bit premature. For myself, I feel young, mentally and physically, like the more interesting things I will do are in my future rather than my past. “He not busy being born is busy dying.” To that end, my own hope is to get our subscription transition to the point where I can hand off more of the business and managerial aspects of this operation to my able colleagues and focus more on writing and other projects. “Steal a little and they throw you in jail. Steal a lot and they make you king.”
