President Obama’s first direct attack on Mitt Romney at Tuesday night’s debate came in response to Romney’s questionable claim that he has a five-point plan to create 12 million jobs.
Romney, Obama said, “doesn’t have a five-point plan. He has a one-point plan. That plan is to make sure that folks at the top play by a different set of rules. That’s been his philosophy in the private sector. That’s been his philosophy as governor. That’s been his philosophy as a presidential candidate.”
Romney’s claim that his jobs plan would create 12 million jobs was first debunked Tuesday morning by the Washington Post. However, many forecasters expect that the economy will create 12 million jobs over the next four years as the recovery takes hold.
