A Georgia county sheriff called the members of Black Lives Matter “domestic terrorists with an agenda” in a statement released Tuesday to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. According to TPM’s Sara Jerde, Butch Conway, the sheriff of Gwinnett County, emphasized the point that “all lives matter,” saying acts of police violence are “not about race.”

Josh Marshall writes that opponents of the Iran nuclear deal “raised and tried to spend far more than it was possible to spend with any hope of affecting the outcome. And they certainly knew that was the case.”
BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “Bernie Sanders’ supporters obviously have not thought this through, so let me be clear: Bernie Sanders does not have a snowball’s chance of winning the general election. If he is the nominee, all the Republicans need to do is run ads with Bernie Sanders saying “I am a Democratic Socialist” 30 times in a 30 second spot. It will be the most devastating political ad in American History. Every single Republican from the nominee on down will only refer to him as “Comrade Bernie”, meaning in every other sentence publicly spoken by the GOP about the Presidential election. A recent Gallup poll shows that a practicing Muslim has a better chance of being president than a self-proclaimed socialist.”
