During a speech at a Hispanic Heritage Month event in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden criticized Donald Trump’s “sick message” about immigration.
“There’s one guy absolutely denigrating an entire group of people, appealing to the baser side of human nature, working on this notion of xenophobia in a way that hasn’t occurred in a long time,” Biden said, according to CNN.
“Folks, the American people are with us. I know it doesn’t feel that way, but I’m telling you, I’m telling you the American people agree with us,” he continued. “This will pass: Trump, and that stuff that you’re hearing on the other team.”
As Biden concluded his remarks, members of the crowd chanted “Run, Joe, Run!”
“Oh, no, no, no, no,” he said in response, according to The Hill.

So when do we get Losah Joe’s cell phone number?
This is precisely the role that Uncle Joe needs to play in the 2016 election: The Democrat’s and America’s moral compass.
The Vice President needs to do what’s best for himself and his family, but beyond that Democrats have to decide whether or not Hillary is electable. If the answer is no, there is no one else currently running who ensures victory. I suspect that Mr. Biden is considering that aspect in his decision.
I’d never underestimate a Clinton.
I love that guy. And he speaks the larger truth. But yikes, he got a lot of history wrong in that short statement. “Know-nothings”: mid-19th century, not late 19th century. More importantly, we’ve had quite a terrible few bouts of xenophobia between then and now.
