Head Of Hispanic Media Relations Leaves RNC

The Gist: The Republican National Committee official in charge of Hispanic media relations is leaving the committee and has reportedly said that she is not comfortable working for Donald Trump, according to the New York Times.

From The Reporter’s Notebook

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump a “fraud” on Wednesday over Trump University, TPM’s Sara Jerde wrote. She also said that he had “disqualified himself completely” in the race for the White House over his rhetoric on the campaign trail, noting his proposed ban on Muslims.

Agree or Disagree?

Josh Marshall: “Trump has spent his entire life surrounding by yes-men and enjoying a generally fawning press. Relentless scrutiny, even occasional scrutiny will bring out his driving grievance and desire for vengeance in its worst possible light, all about himself, hiding his misdeeds and attacking anyone who questions him.”

Say What?!

“Why would you consider staging a firearm inside a child’s room? It’s the first place I’m going to go! As I’ve said…many times, if your kid is going to break into the safe just because it’s in their room, you have a parenting issue, not a home defense issue.”

– A firearms instructor urged parents to store guns in kids’ bedrooms.

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “What I see is a large positive arc during her SoS period, followed by a levelling-off at about her long-term average, which looks like roughly a few percent net positive (quite good for a public figure—Obama is only net +1% right now and that is considered great). Then, at roughly the start of September of 2014, the negatives start to move up; curiously (or not so curiously), Wikipedia’s article on the Sanders campaign notes that ‘Sanders had been considered a potential candidate for President of the United States since at least September 2014.’ Make of that what you will; to me, it is clear that when Sanders started making candidate noises, that was when Clinton’s disapprove numbers started to edge up. It also looks like the numbers may now have stabilized (Sanders’ goose now being thoroughly cooked), and I expect they will now begin creeping back up toward a net positive. Indeed, with only Donald Trump as a basis for comparison, the net-approval numbers may well shoot up to historic levels.”

Related: Clinton and Sanders are in a dead heat in the CA primary race.
