Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) were in a tight race for the California primary, according to a poll released late Wednesday that showed Clinton leading by just two points.

The Public Policy Institute of California survey showed that 46 percent of likely Democratic primary voters supported Clinton while 44 percent supported Sanders.

Sanders has said he is confident he’ll win the California primary on June 7, but the 546 delegates up for grabs in the Golden State also could edge Clinton closer to the nomination.

The poll was conducted by phone from May 13-22 among 552 likely Democratic primary voters. The margin of error was 5.7 percentage points.
