TPM’s Lauren Fox points out that Lindsey Graham said what few Republicans have been willing to on Thursday when he called out Donald Trump by name for hurting the GOP’s chances of taking the White House in 2016. While candidates like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have been careful to attack Trump in fear it could hurt them with the party’s base, Graham warned that if Trump is the nominee or the GOP candidate follows too closely in his footsteps, the party won’t be able to compete against Hillary Clinton.

BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “Equally seriously, I’ve read two accounts lately of the crowd beginning to drift out as his rambling speeches stretch on past an hour. So honestly I think the thing he can do to ultimately hurt his campaign is to keep talking, because he’ll just keep revealing himself as a fake, a loser, and a huge bore. He’s like the “You can call me Ray” guy, it just can’t go on forever, the routine has to wear thin.”
Related: Trump said he would do the CNN debate after all because he is doing too well in the polls to skip it.
