Agree or Disagree?
Josh Marshall: “Here we get back to the simple, critical difference between between the primaries and the general election. Trump supporters exist entirely within the Trump fact bubble. They were more than sufficient to win the Republican primaries. They either believe his claims or are indifferent to their accuracy. The Trump world is based on a self-contained, self-sustaining bullshit feedback loop. Trump isn’t racist. He’s actually the least racist person in America. Hispanics aren’t offended by his racist tirades against Judge Curiel. He’s going to do great with Hispanics! Didn’t you see the new Hispanics for Trump Facebook page? He’ll put California in play and it won’t even be that hard.”
Say What?!
“I don’t know what Donald Trump is thinking. … I don’t know where Donald Trump is coming from.”
– Rep. Duncan Hunter, one of the first congressmen to endorse Trump, says he shouldn’t have to answer for Trump’s comments.
BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “She shouldn’t worry about the White working class voter. They’re not the ones who win Democratic victories. It’s non-White voters who are the most important voters for Democrats, as Obama demonstrated in 2008 and 2012. Especially if Latinos started voting at the same rate or higher as White voters, it would make a huge difference. If you could really mobilize non-White voters and get them to turn out, you could flip Georgia, Arizona, and maybe even Texas. Getting any one of those states and it’s game-over for Republicans, maybe for a generation or more, especially if it’s Texas. Non-White voters are what helped flip North Carolina in 2008, and Virginia in 2008 & 2012.”
