The revelation that one of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s top advisors was directly involved with discussions to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge in September has been the top news story for almost every major news outlet Wednesday. Except for one: The Fox News Channel.
No, over at Roger Ailes’s conservative media monolith, the issue hasn’t warranted a single mention on the air.
BuzzFeed’s Dorsey Shaw ran the transcript and found that Fox hadn’t mentioned Christie’s name since 2:16 p.m. ET on Tuesday:

Update, 3:15 p.m. ET
At 3:07 p.m. ET, Fox News host Shep Smith broke the network’s on-air silence about the biggest news story of the day.
“Newly published e-mails and text messages suggest that an aide to the New Jersey governor, Chris Christie, knew about an apparent revenge plot against the mayor, who refused to endorse the governor for re-election,” Smith said. “This has been big news in the to be tabloids for a long time.”
Smith then speculated that the revelations could be a problem for Christie’s 2016 ambitions.
“The emails will be trouble for Governor Christie. At least in local politics, for quite some time. And if he decides to run for president, rest assured, they’ll end up in campaign ads,” Smith added. “There is no question about it. They’re an easy google away, if you want to take a look.”
