Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said on Monday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) appearance could work to his advantage in Washington.

“Just look at his physique: You know, when Washington’s ready to blow up, wouldn’t it be kind of nice to have a guy like him sitting on the pot?” Grassley said in an interview with WHOtv in Des Moines, as quoted by the Daily Caller.

Christie’s weight is often discussed as an obstacle for the governor in a potential bid for president, and Mitt Romney’s campaign reportedly felt Christie’s weight could have been an issue on the 2012 ticket.
