House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Friday excoriated House Republicans for seeking to enact draconian budget cuts to science investment and health programs for the young and elderly in a continuing resolution to fund the government past Sept. 30.

“It wreaks havoc on the health care for our seniors by disrupting provider payments for medicare and medicaid,” Pelosi said on the House floor. “Either you don’t know what you are doing or this is one of the most intentional acts of brutality that you have cooked up with stiff competition for that honor.”
