Obama: Can’t Solve Syria’s Civil War ‘By Force’

President Barack Obama assured the nation in a primetime address Tuesday night that his administration was not seeking a full blown military intervention in Syria, but rather a punitive measure in response to a reported chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime.

“I have resisted calls for military action because we cannot resolve someone else’s civil war through force,” Obama said at the White House.
