Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s latest proposal for a diplomatic solution with Syria is “unacceptable.”
Putin said that the proposal for Syria to relinquish control of its chemical weapons will only work if the United States takes the use of force off the table. McCain, long one of the biggest proponents for military intervention in Syria, took to Twitter to call Putin’s suggestion “unacceptable”:
