John Oliver was in his element during Monday’s edition of “The Daily Show,” reveling in the news that Kate Middleton had given birth to a son.
“A son? You mean a king! All kneel to the one true king! Kneel! Kneel for God’s sake,” the British interim host joked.
But Oliver shelved his excitement after running a clip of CNN contributor Victoria Arbiter, who called the Duchess of Cambridge “brilliant” for delivering a boy on the first try. Oliver wondered if the television personality was aware that Middleton is married to Prince William and not Khal Drogo, a character from HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
“What would your response had been if it had been a girl? ‘Damnation upon your cursed womb, Catherine! Burn the princess, for she has produced a baby of the weaker sex. Burn them both! Burn them!”
