If Sarah Palin is indeed giving serious consideration to a U.S. Senate bid next year, the chair of the Alaska Republican Party doesn’t know anything about it.
In fact, Peter Goldberg, who became chair of the Alaska GOP earlier this year, told Alaska Public Media earlier this week that he’s had no communication whatsoever with the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
“I would think she would want to at least speak briefly to the new head of the Alaska Republican Party,” Goldberg said. “But no, never met the lady. Never spoken to her. I have seen her once.”
Palin said earlier this week that she’s considering mounting a challenge to Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) in 2014, prompting a back-and-forth between the two this week.
