House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and other top House Republicans have donated to an openly gay candidate in their party, Roll Call reported Tuesday.
Cantor, along with House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), have made contributions to former San Diego Councilman Carl DeMaio, who’s running in California’s 52nd Congressional District. DeMaio is challenging Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA).
The three House members each donated from their respective leadership PACs. Cantor donated $10,000, McCarthy gave $5,000 and Price made a $1,000 contribution.
