Sen. John McCain didn’t mince his words Sunday morning when talking about Vladimir Putin and his refusal to hand over NSA leaker Edward Snowden back over to the U.S., calling his actions a “direct slap in the face to the United States.”
He is the “autocratic ruler of Russia who continues to oppress people in Russia,” he said on Fox News Sunday. “[He] behaves in a manner that is not in the cause of world peace.”
“They thumb their nose at us no matter what the issue is,” the senator said, adding that this “reset” the button on American-Russian relations back to 1955.
