MSNBC host Al Sharpton reacted to news Tuesday that the Supreme Court overturned a key component of the Voting Rights Act, calling the decision a “devastating blow to those of us who need that protection.”
“We will prevail as we did in 1965,” he said on MSNBC’s “Jansing and Co.”
Sharpton, a longtime civil rights activist, said there was a need to “mobilize the national community” and that the nation must “put pressure” on Congress to act.
